ARM and TSMC created the 16-nanometer Cortex-A57 chip with FinFET use

The TSMC and ARM companies declared completion of development and readiness for production of the first Cortex-A57 processors in which the advanced 16-nanometer technical process and FinFET transistors is used. Let's note, Cortex-A57 is today the most high-performance product in the range of ARM. It was presented last year.
New processors are aimed at use in mobile devices and corporate appendices. As partners note, it is their first joint product which includes 64-digit architecture of ARMv8 and the TSMC FinFET technology. To embody chip RTL model in the real device ready to mass production, they needed about six months.
